MANY LAWYERS BACK CJ ABIA HON. JUSTICE THERESA UZOKWE

Dear All,
Thanks for the overwhelming support following my humble call. Most profoundly  Authority Falana SAN he has called on NJC under the distinguished chairmanship of Hon. Justice Onnoghen CJN to ask  Justice Orji the acting CJ Abia State to quit the position.  The Learned Silk enthused in his exact words:
Since the removal of the CJ is illegal in every material particular the NJC should demand her reinstatement and direct the Acting CJ to resign forthwith. Until sanctions are meted out to all  promoters of impunity the rule of law will continue to be treated with disdain in Nigeria.” Femi Falana SAN Sunday 28th January 2018

Additionally, Festus Keyamo SAN is graciously considering a petition signed under to LPPC. You all know AG Abia Umeh SAN is the first ‘self-appointed’ Chief Judge cum AG same time of any state. Loads of Thanks FK – Nigeria’s John F. Kennedy.

Renowned Dr Tunji Abayomi the relentless Advocate of Constitutionalism and Human Rights also frowned at them.

Suspension of CJ Abia: Matters Arising

The News Editor
Vanguard Newspapers

Attn: Mr Innocent Anaba

The above news headline refers, please dear publishers, the Chief Judge of Abia State, Her Ladyship Hon. Justice Theresa Uzokwe has yet received a copy of the referenced petition dated 22nd Jan 2018. If you have it publish it, they didn’t send a copy to anyone. Shouldn’t she be served so we could look at it and respond to it? Kindly ask your source Sirs/Madames, Speaker in cahoots with Attorney General of the State and their co-travelers are hoarding information.

They cite section 292(1)(ii) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999. Look, the State AG with intent to calumniate CJ’s office, trampled on her roles and responsibilities as Hon. CJ to the extent some of her official duties were corroded. Otherwise she is efficient, performs her administrative duties efficaciously. They contradict themselves in terms; Allegans contraria non est audiendus.

From the briefs we have received, this problem begun brewing prior to and after the appointment of Hon Justice Theresa Uzokwe as the Chief Judge of Abia State. She is an indigene of Anambra, not from Abia and they don’t like that.  She is the Chair Abia State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) by virtue of her office, the Attorney General of the State Chief Kalu Umeh SAN set up a parallel JSC that purported to terminate the appointment of the Chief Registrar (CR) of the High Court of Abia State, Elizabeth  Akwiwu-Chukwu Esq (Ms) and Umeh and his JSC appointed another Mr Ben Anyanwu. The CJ and her CR protested against all of the flagrant disrespect to the office of the CJ.

Furthermore, posting of Magistrates from one jurisdiction to another within the state by CJ was resisted and unlawfully countermanded by AG on State Television on the ‘authority’ of his parallel JSC in Nov- Dec 2017. CR Elizabeth confronted AG Umeh that he lacks the legal backing to countermand Hon. CJ through Abia state media tool on TV.

Worse still, attacks on the finances of Abia State Judiciary; AG Umeh’s Judicial Service Commission (JSC) wrote to Zenith Bank Plc to change the signatories of Abia State Judiciary account from CR Elizabeth to illegally appointed CR Ben. Again Her Lordship objected on grounds that AG is not to appoint a CR for the CJ. And now the entire Abia State executive hand-in-glove with the Abia State House of Assembly staged that atrocious act of “suspension”?.

Support CJ Abia, Hon. Justice T. Uzokwe in the struggle.

Thank you!

Link to online memorial tribute for Ms Oby Nwankwo R.I.P

Dear Country Folks,

Sorry to bother you with a noble request, God having saved our lives and brought us to 2018. We lost one of our own as you know Ms Oby Nwankwo our country’s CEDAW rep. CEDAW Committee is based in NY UN Headquarters; you know the convention on the elimination of all forms of discriminatory practices against women (the CEDAW Convention) is a human rights treaty for women. UN GA adopted the convention in 1979. A year after Oby Nwankwo LL.B, LL.M, UNN was enrolled in Nigeria as a Barrister and Solicitor 1980.  My Learned senior was deeply committed advocate for women. Hence she represented Nigeria in Jan 2013 for her first term till Dec 2016 purely on merit she did earn a further term of four years in CEDAW  from Jan 2017 until she passed in Maryland US on the 9th of Dec 2017.

In present times of effective and simplified online communications her family, friends and colleagues World wide  have decided to reduce the costs for her  children and grandchildren who live in USA, when they arranged to lay her sweet soul to rest on Saturday January 6th 2018 at 12 noon
Interment Ceremony
Gate of Heaven Cemetery

We asked that the child be contacted directly for those who contributed to child(ren)education and welfare. Oby Nwankwo’s children and grandchildren have not requested funding of any sort. Thank you.
