AUDI ALTERAM PARTEM RULE: NBA Election Was Rigged Odinkalu Obi Okafor Allege, Elombah

Dear Barrister Daniel Elombah,

You seem still upset over Afam Osigwe’s disqualification knowing  you once exhibited brotherly loyalty to him understandably he is from Nnewi.  You well know Osigwe’s  Sponsor Augustine Alegeh SAN with whom they served in the same NBA EXCO 2014-2016 are the closest in the history of NBA pairs in and out of office. Yesterday ECNBA Chair Professor Yadudu presented NBA President-elect Usoro SAN with a certificate of return in NBA House and the event was very cordial,  utmost  joyful , some of the biggest congratulatory hand shake came from Alegeh SAN to Mr Paul Usoro SAN and his Learned Spouse.

I urge you in the spirit of brotherhood and good neighborliness to join everyone  in congratulating the winner and in your spare time please read the link to article an effective pushback against the extracts you quoted in your article  this glorious morning when everyone is celebrating only to read your one-sided view most unfair. I know in keeping with the audi altarem partem rule, you hear the other side, those things being bandied by the opposition do not exist, read Mr Victor Etim's piece here and do the needful by publishing this other side of the argument, please
Good morning.

OJUKWU: Screenshots of Messages From NBA President-Elect Reveals Teacher Was Economical With The Truth!

Something as simple as phone call or text message should be acknowledged at the earliest opportunity. Not so for Ernest Ojukwu SAN  former Chair EBF. The screenshots of the Whatsapp messages are posted in the link hereunder, as incontrovertibly reported by online publisher.

On Saturday 25th August 2018, Ernest Ojukwu wrote on Facebook quote:
“NBA Election: Paul Usoro did not call me. My attention was last night (about 8pm 24th Aug 2018) drawn to a widely published story about a letter from Paul Usoro SAN to me. In that letter Paul stated that he called me on 23rd August 2018 and that I didn’t take his call. I state categorically that Paul did not call me on 23rd or any other date….”.

Teacher went on to disclose Paul Usoro’s two phone numbers as if there was a dispute over ownership of PU’s phone numbers,  MTN and Airtel lines. Teacher failed to acknowledge the simple truth that he had read or seen Paul Usoro’s Whatsapp message until yesterday when our NBA President-elect Paul Usoro SAN, released the screenshots of  his Whatsapp messages written in the most amiable tone to EO. Usoro asked after Teacher’s amiable spouse and children in an African setting of amity. Rather than reply to the Whatsapp text Teacher turns to his Facebook to misrepresent Paul Usoro his own Brother and some of Teacher’s ex-students,  not minding they were addressing  their intellectual superior, used poor language to launch undeserved scurrilous attacks against Paul Usoro SAN as Teacher looked on  and savored it. Shame!

Recall the Legend Fela’s song “Teacher Don’t Teach me nonsense.”

Teacher owes his readers apology for his deliberate act of misrepresentation in our public space.

EVEN HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER AGBAKOBA SAN DIDN'T REACH OUT TO RIVAL CHRIS UCHE SAN

He has alot in common with Barack Obama (BO). Both Attorneys often think outside the box. Brilliant!. Articulate. Savvy. Suave. Monogamists  One Man, One Woman. Great Morality.  Both Family men same number of children. Same political philosophy that if you Win an election (they both Won on first attempt at the presidency) and your opponent Lose, you reach out to them. Reason Barack reached out to his fiercest political rival Hillary Clinton.  In NBA Daudu –Wali SAN never reached out to those they beat at the polls. Please find attached a letter from PU to AOO and EO. It’s also on Usoro’s Facebook. He wrote to them amicably with utmost humility, not minding PU is most senior and most presidential. None other, even HR Lawyer Agbakoba SAN did not reach out to Chris Uche SAN his rival.

BO & PU are married to feminists. Both of whom are good Lawyers.  Michelle and Mfon are Attorneys-at-Law in distinct jurisdictions, Washington D.C and Lagos respectively. From their earliest appointments i.e the Transition Committees albeit in different jurisdictions, BO and PU demonstrate diversity and gender balance.
The Lawyers are right, NBA has the Best Lawyer for the job for the office of the President 2018-2020.
Long live the Nigerian Bar Association.
God Bless you my Brother & Sister Barristers in Tripod from East,  West& Northern regions of NBA.
Thank you!
C N AJIE ESQ.

LEARNED DAUDU AND WALI SAN HEED THIS CALL FOR PEACE, PLEASE

Learned Gentleman of the Bar,  Mr Okey Wali SAN,

As a former President recall your learned daughter  in whom we are all well pleased was to work  or actually worked in the law firm of Paul Usoro SAN in Lagos.  You said that yourself.  Your firm in PH would have been okay but for the fact of your son-in-law being resident/worked in Lagos at the time.  You did indicate to us in NBA, of Paul Usoro’s amiable spouse, our First Lady Mfon Usoro  to take care of your learned daughter and dotted on her.  Our Members celebrated your  cute  grandchild thereafter.

The elections have come and gone, you should be proud of Nigeria’s Barack Obama, Mr Paul Usoro SAN  being one of your  worthy successors, 4 years after you left office. Considering , at the time you contested for office of NBA President,  you had a powerful challenger Emeka Ngige SAN of Lagos premier Branch though started late, garnered lots of votes that  though you won,  EBF was startled.
Olisa Agbakoba SAN is from Anambra State and was NBA President.  Rivers State had produced two Presidents and a General Secretary 2004. Those years I contested and lost and didn’t challenge NBA poll results.  You should be liberal to allow another State from the Eastern Region i.e. AKWA IBOM in 2018. Anambra State had taken Rivers State had taken.  It is the turn of Akwa Ibom now just one presidential position since the history of our glorious NBA. Let the USOROS be. Stop your campaign of undeserved hate by gathering a few people against the rest of us in the entire Southern and Northern States.

During campaign you snatched the mic from Paul Usoro SAN and some of your colleagues chided you.  You are yet to apologize to Nigerian Bar Association for  the  ignominy.  As you know,  conduct unbecoming of a Legal practitioner under the LPRC. Matters made worse, you are working with Daudu SAN to vent frustration over Paul Usoro’s election. That is low Silk, for your high esteem, please STOP!

Sir, I have tried to call your GSM, not getting through hence I write.  Paul Usoro is from the Eastern Region and by virtue of his position as President-elect, any forum based in  the East such as EBF, MUST first seek his consent and approval  on any decision affecting NBA  unless and until he assigns the duty to the 1st VP elect;  Mr Imo Stanley Chidozie  and not you or JB Daudu SAN with all due respect.

By the way, J B Daudu SAN lost to Yunus Ustaz Usman SAN  for the position of Leader of Kaduna Bar.  JB Daudu SAN is not the Leader of Kaduna Branch and he wants to be leader of EBF? Preposterous!

Dear EBF members, JB Daudu cannot be your leader as he and Okey Wali  seek to destabilize EBF. Kindly don’t heed their call it is anti-EBF. Not in the character of EBF to heed illegitimate calls.  The South Eastern Leaders I spoke to this morning by phone agreed that it is in keeping with EBF convention to make peace and accept Paul Usoro’s electoral  success like other forums accept PU SAN President-elect.  And the Wali-Daudu’s illegitimate plots would not advance  EBF’s lofty goals.  Note that Wali and Daudu already attained their zenith – the duo would not need EBF. But you the good people would need EBF by working perfectly with NBA President Paul Usoro SAN.
God Bless the Nigerian Bar Association.

Ernest Ojukwu SAN is Unhappy With EBF's Endorsement of Obi Okafor SAN

He was a founding member of EBF and pioneer Chair. His rival  Arthur Obi Okafor’s influence in EBF overpowered Prof  Ernest Ojukwu (EO)’s and thereby led the great  forum to  endorse AOO as its presidential flagbearer at the just concluded election.  Naturally EO should be bitter that he wasn’t elected even though he had worked assiduously for other Lawyers in previous years not to be elected.

The same EBF, EO used as a tool to oppress the Igbos of the Niger Delta without apologies. Years ago when EO was in EBF saddle he had a penchant for ejecting Midwestern Igbos from EBF meetings. Chief Nwamu  one of our leaders would say but  Asaba  and the entire Delta North is Igbo and when EO was reminded that  Ohaneze recognizes this fact. EO was quick to retort “This is not Ohaneze please” and we often wonder is this professor of law politically naive as to exclude some of Igbos greatest assets?
Nowadays EBF  is well outside Ojukwu’s influence and the new leaders are more tolerant of Igbos of Delta State origin such that EBF’s presidential candidate AOO nominated Andrew Odum as his campaign D-G. Andrew Odum is from Asaba. He lives and works in Asaba and worked for AOO the adopted candidate of EBF. Ernest Ojukwu was so intolerant of Delta Igbos in his time that the entire Midwest swore that they were not going to support him for elected or electable offices because if they did and he won he would have continued with his unexplained anger against his Igbo Brothers in Delta State.
So where were  Ernest Ojukwu’s votes to come from?
1.      In EBF Arthur Obi Okafor had blocked Ojukwu there.
2.    In South South Paul Usoro had blocked Ojukwu successfully and seamlessly
3.    In Northern forum Paul Usoro pulled some votes and Okafor did pull some also EO trickles.
4.    In the South West Lagos is central.   Paul Usoro SAN is the candidate of premier Lagos with the highest number of voters.
5.    So from where was EO’s votes? Agbakoba’s allies did not follow Agbakoba’s endorsement of EO.   Agbakoba’s field marshall is Lady Obodokwu rejected  Ojukwu outright and worked for AOO.
6.    Some of EO’s  ex-students were the ones who gave Ojukwu the votes  he scored which were not nearly enough to scale through.  He should take his loss in equanimity and probably be more pro-Igbo next time.  EO may wish to slug it with AOO or whoever the EBF throws up in 2024.
7..    The Yorubas don’t behave like that once you are Yoruba even from Kogi State or wherever outside South West, they rally round you and they  will work for you. I like the Yorubas for being more liberal than Prof Ernest Ojukwu. A lot of Igbos are becoming more liberal nowadays.
Thank you!
