Oyegun - 'I Didn't Seek to Probe JJSC' - Supreme Court the Last Hope

Supreme Court the last hope for all, there is a possibility that if Buhari's election results were contested in April 2015 you know the Electoral Act allows 21 days to file and for the Presidential Election Petition from the Court of Appeal it would have gone to the Supreme Court and with the quality of judgments and Justices of the Supreme Court interested in  justice delivery.

Judicial intimidation would not prevent JJSC from looking at the facts, evidence and law before them, that there were under-age voters in Katsina, Kebbi and other States; that PVCs/card readers were dysfunctional; that there was no provision in the Electoral Act for PVC/card readers Prof Jega introduced; imagine that the President of the FRN and C-in-C at the time GEJ and the first family PVC-Card readers failed. Add over-voting in some APC states. How would Buhari have surmounted the electoral irregularities and to think that an African Leader gave up his office &powers in a sit-tight continent and some people  grumble about former President’s handover notes being delayed?.

Look at the number of “inconclusive” polls Buhari’s INEC declared within a spate of 7 months. If Buhari were Jonathan would he have handed over? Some Institutions bestowed Martin Luther King human rights award on Dr GEJ and a few eyes were red. When GEJ was President there was freedom of speech no human rights activist was hurt. Not so for Buhari.

What if GEJ is nominated right now for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Committee on account of his peaceful and unprecedented and smooth transition from one political party to another, a rival party?

Lawyer Ebun Olu-Adegboruwa and other human rights lawyers may please proceed with the WAEC certificate lawsuit because it is not barred. As the Americans say sue the……. That 7-letter word Georgetown says don’t use.

Respectfully submitted,

The chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, has denied demanding the investigation of Supreme Court judges for affirming the election victories of Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Abia State governors.
The three states are led by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
A statement by the APC’s national secretary, Mala Buni, said a Thursday report by Vanguard titled, “Oyegun Calls for Probe of Supreme Court Judges” was false.
“The party wishes to deny this report in the strongest terms,” the statement said.
“As much as he expressed ‘total astonishment’ over the ruling of the Supreme Court, the National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, never called for the investigation of Supreme Court judges.
“Indeed, a copy of the statement issued following Chief Odigie-Oyegun’s meeting with the APC delegation from Rivers State was widely circulated. At no time during the meeting or in the statement referred to did the National Chairman make such a call for the probe of Supreme Court Judges. What transpired at the meeting was correctly reported in other media outlets.
“Given that the author of the Vanguard report was not physically at the venue of this event, but relied on this statement, it is baffling that he gave this slant to the story,” it said.
The party said Mr. Odigie-Oyegun “has the highest regards for the judiciary”.
