Bayelsa Polls: Policeman Killed As Violence Refuses To Abate

A policeman whose name could not be ascertained as at press time has been

killed in Famgbe, a remote suburb in Yenogoa Local Government, according
to an eye witness who told Pointblanknews.com

Osom Blankson, a renowned political thug in Bayelsa state is alleged to
have killed the policeman, according to the eye witness.

The eye witness told Pointblanknews.com that the deceased Policeman
refused to upturn the result of the election in the area said to have been
won by the PDP in favor of the APC resulted in the machete attack that
killed him.

“The Policeman did not want to listen to the thugs led by Blankson who
wanted him to change the result to favor APC. Famgbe is a PDP area and PDP
won there with wide margin,” the eye witness said.

According to him, “as soon as he moved to leave with the results, I saw
Blankson pull out a machete and before I knew what was happening, the
Policeman was on the ground in a pool of his own blood.”

The Bayelsa governorship election has been characterized by violence,
inducement of voters and apathy in some parts of the states, particularly
the riverine and coastal areas, Pointblanknews.com correspondent in
