Two posts hereunder, one on President Buhari and the other on
Senator Melaye and you would probably acknowledge that even under threats of
two-year jail term against social media outlets who would violate the provision
in the event of it becomes law, Saharareporters still charges at Sen Melaye for
operating a foreign account at this time.
“S” for “Stubborn” or ”Silly”?
I believe “S” stands for “Stubborn”
Sen Ibn Nallah’s Bill
on Social Media was ill-conceived and ill-advised.
That was where I was getting to that threats to imprison
stubborn people don’t work. Isn’t it an irony that a former military dictator
Buhari now says “I support free speech” – PMB’s hypocrisy, he doesn’t support
free speech anything I can prove it. If
he supported free speech why did they rain bullets on IPOB members last week
for expressing their rights and why is Nnamdi Kanu being tried right now in a
Magistrate court, DSS moves to take him to the High Court for Treason or what?
Criminal conspiracy, terrorism? How is it “terrorism”? Peoples agitation for secession
and self-determination and independence under international human rights
instruments ratified by Nigeria, is legitimate. So how is he a criminal? The
protesters kicked against discrimination hitting at them in various shapes,
their people were sidelined in federal appointments and so on, the victims of marginalization and you
mis-characterize and criminalize them for speaking out?!
For the Senate under the distinguished presidency of Dr
Bukola Saraki to now pave leverages against the background of several human
rights violations of Buhari’s regime who now enthuse not to sign the social
media bill, because “we support free speech” incredible. PMB rests his
observations on his newly found Constitution of the FRN ’99 The heck!
Please Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki the social media
bill proposed by good Sen Ibn NaAllah is a poisonous bill taken too far. It
wont work. How could anyone pick the
cloud and pin it down? Don’t pass the bill Sirs, take it off your legislative agenda please,
right now.
Thanks in anticipation
Attorney CN Ajie
