This article chronicles
Comrade Governor Oshiomhole’s achievements in his first term in office to include
in the words of the author:
1.
Tarred many roads
2.
Constructed a lot of
drainages to control erosinon in most parts of the state
3.
Renovated most of
the dilapidated schools – the red roof revolution
4.
Employed 10,000
youths in the Edo Youth Empowerment Scheme
5.
Increased IGR from
500Million to N2Billion monthly
6.
Dualisation of the
6.7 km Airport Road Construction of the Central Hospital Benin which commences
since 2009
7.
Distribution of free
eye glasses to the elderly
That Oshiomhole’s second
term was a woeful failure not one developmental project embarked on, he
increased school fees shockingly for a pro-people’s regime, increased land use
charges, Edo witnesseth lack of infrastructural maintenance leading to
dilapidated roads, high rate of youth unemployment, lack of teachers in schools
to the extent that a coalition of civil society protested.
Thanks to the Author,
would notice this trend in all APC States particularly Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Imo,
Rivers etc, the first term in office recorded remarkable achievements which
dwindled during their second term given that APC presidential
campaigns exerted enormous pressures on APC state budgets. Even now
despite the bailout funds President
Buhari hurriedly made out for them via CBN. Dasukigate is a scandalous
source of political funding for party campaigns, but APC is as guilty.
Now that APC is the ruling
party and the sacred cow state machinery cannot be set against them when
anti-graft war by non-vindictive leadership ought to be holistic.
Two moods of a Leader the vindictive mood or work mood. Right now Buhari is in a vindictive mood. If only patriots knew he
was not ready for work, would have suggested to our country Nigeria to
allow Buhari face the presidential election tribunal squarely cos the system that
brought him in was fundamentally flawed you know under-aged voters, PVC
worked in some states didn’t in others and so on.
Ozekhome SAN & Co were in court against Buhari’s eligibility issues of WAEC certificate and shouldn’t they
have returned to the Federal High Court Abuja post-election
to continue, His Lordship had actually adjourned,
to receive a judicial pronouncement, rather some plaintiffs and or their
counsel without probably consulting their clients discontinued
the "eligibility" lawsuit. Is there non standing, right now?
