Price
modulation is a word that has crept into the lexicology of the ruling party
and it is a word to watch. Recall that during the presidential campaigns,
Prof Tam David West assured the nation if they won, N40 per litre petrol. So
fuel price N87/Litre and crude oil price at the time was $120 a barrel. Now that
crude oil price has fallen 4 times less at $31 and predicted at $20, we should
expect petrol to sell at least at the price Prof Tam David West promised voters
and Buhari took the benefit of the promise N40/litre. They no longer talk of
N40/l proposed by Prof Tam-rithmethics http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/buharill-reduce-petrol-to-n40l-david-west/
Now
Buhari wants from 1st Jan 2016 to have marketers sell at N85 and in
another breath we have read in today’s media that there is a term “price
modulation”. I think Buhari’s regime is trying to hoodwink Nigerians not to
protest fuel subsidy removal as they say they will offer fuel at slightly below
the present price.
Poor
people in villages rely on kerosene in kitchens. What is the price regime for
this product. http://www.punchng.com/were-ready-to-sell-petrol-for-n85-marketers/
They
will sell petrol at N85/Litre from next week and it stays on N85 for a couple
of weeks and when settled, they will turn round to change the pump price overnight
and plead “modulation” Nigerians are also settling in to BuhariStratagem you recall he said initially he was going to be
Petroleum Minister and we kicked and asked if the Senate would screen him along
with other Ministers and he wasn’t screened. We also referred to s.138 of the Nigerian
Constitution that the President cannot hold any other executive or paid
employment in any capacity whatsoever whilst s/he remains in office as Mr
President or Madam President. We won the debate and he backtracked they said he
wasn’t going to take the ministerial slot anymore and by Jove! Today he is the
Minister of Petroleum.
Recall
his anti-corruption war?. If his anti-corruption
war worked well would one of his favourite Governors Rochas Okorocha have set
aside N600Million for the tallest Christmas tree?. Workers are owed five months
salary. He is fighting PDP corruption only. APC blatant corruption does not sting the anti-corruption
crusader?
Dasuki
revealed that PMB collected SUVs and $300,000. He now tells us in today’s punch
through his spokesman that the military treated him unfairly over his WAEC
certificate. At the level of our literacy should we now be haggling over WAEC
certificate. Even I a younger citizen than our senior citizen in his 70’s, long
trashed my WAEC Certificate. Even LL.B degree appears small in my eyes.
Much
more…..
